Description
SM&A is the leader in program lifecycle consulting and we are growing. To keep pace with client demand and market opportunities, we are expanding our Business Development Organization. We are looking for experienced early and mid-career business development professionals who are success driven and interested in career and financial growth.

Responsibilities
  • Prospecting and lead generation to develop new client relationships within a defined geography and named accounts
  • Develop opportunities through consultative sales and solution selling
  • Develop and increase client relationships to drive sales revenue and market share
  • Focused on meeting and exceeding sales quotas and sales revenue goals
  • Contribute to and manage innovative proposals to close opportunities and win new business
  • Deliver sales presentations tailored to the client and opportunity
  • Experienced with managing sales leads and opportunities in a CRM system (experience with Microsoft CRM a plus)
  • Communicate with multiples layers of the client organization (including senior managers, directors, vice presidents and C-Level executives) to develop and close opportunities
  • Initiate regular customer contact
Key Attributes
  • Experience with business development for consulting or staffing of people with highly technical skills (management, engineering, planning/scheduling, EVMS, and capture & proposal management)
  • Experienced in the capture of client requirements and able to collaborate with technical subject matter experts to develop the solution required to close both near and long term opportunities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint with a demonstrated ability to write
  •  Strong networking and prospecting skills
  • Strategic and goal oriented individual capable of identifying, developing, and closing opportunities
  • Self-motivated high-energy professional who consistently demonstrates persistence and initiative
  • Proactive, committed, and does what it takes to get job done with quality and integrity
  • Tenacious and proficient at developing long term relationships with year over year growth
  • Effective at generating continued business form existing accounts
  • Team oriented with high level of influence and strong management skills, able and willing to be assertive when necessary
  • Able to recognize the various stages of opportunities, recognized buying signals, and adept at asking clients for the deal
Qualifications
  • 5 to 10 years of successful sales experience required
  • Demonstrated experienced with consultative and solution sales
  • Knowledge of how to develop and deliver professional presentation and proposals
  • Proven measurable past sales success - past award winner, industry reputation, and W-2 earnings
  • US Citizen or Green Card holder
